having  to recreate an email account in exchange 2003
I have to delete and recreate an email account that was migrated to my email server from an server , to which shows properties that reflect the from the old server...we have been having all kinds of issues with this account. I would rather just delete it and recreate it on our server. I will be using the same email alias and address. my question is, after backing up all the data, and thenpurging it from our mail server,(i even deletedtheusers logon id and recreated that too)i've read in other articles that i should wait for the deletion to replicate throughout our domain (im on a WAN of about 30 other exchange servers. ) how true is this?... can i just recreate it after purging it from the server? i understand it wont be usable til its replicated throughout the domain for a while, but atleast he can use it locally . what are your thoughts?thank your davisRob Davis

It would be best to wait for replication to take place but if you have DC locally at your site the change should take effect immediately. You can, of course, force AD replication to speed up the process and I even suggest using REPLMON to do this andto insure all DC's have been replicated.MVP Exchange Server
